Role Purpose
The Country Representative will serve as the commercial lead and public face of Ecofamilies in the UK. You will take full ownership of local market execution, stakeholder engagement, and operational strategy. This is a high-impact position combining strategic planning with hands-on business development to expand our reach among eco-conscious consumers, corporate partners, and environmental networks.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Growth
- Market Expansion: Define and execute the UK growth strategy to scale the digital platform's user base and community engagement.
- Localization Strategy: Adapt global platform initiatives to align perfectly with UK cultural nuances, consumer behaviors, and sustainability trends.
- P&L Management: Oversee the UK operational budget, ensuring strict cost control, resource allocation, and optimal ROI.
- Data-Driven Growth: Analyze UK user metrics, traffic data, and platform engagement to pivot commercial and community strategies.
Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- B2B Partnerships: Secure commercial sponsorships and strategic alliances with UK-based eco-friendly brands, sustainable businesses, and retailers.
- NGO & Community Alliances: Forge strong relationships with prominent UK environmental charities, parenting networks, and local sustainability groups.
- Affiliate & Vendor Relations: Onboard and manage regional sustainable vendors for the Ecofamilies directory or marketplace.
- Influencer Networks: Build a network of UK-based eco-parenting influencers and advocates to organically boost platform visibility.
Community Engagement & Marketing
- Campaign Execution: Oversee localized digital marketing, SEO, and social media campaigns tailored specifically to UK eco-families.
- Content Curation: Ensure the platform’s articles, guides, and forums reflect pressing UK environmental issues (e.g., local recycling laws, UK green subsidies).
- Event Management: Organize and host virtual webinars, workshops, or physical community meetups across key UK regions to drive brand loyalty.
- User Advocacy: Act as the voice of the UK community, gathering feedback to report back to the central product and development teams.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Legal & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the UK platform strictly adheres to UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and consumer rights regulations.
- Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage a remote or hybrid UK-based team, including content creators, moderators, and customer support.
- Platform Moderation: Oversee local community moderation policies to maintain a safe, inclusive, and legally compliant digital space.
- Reporting: Deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly performance reports directly to global executive leadership.
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in business development, digital platform operations, or regional market management, preferably within tech startups, sustainable sectors, or digital media platforms.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK sustainability landscape, eco-consumer behaviors, and digital marketplace dynamics.
- Network: Proven track record of building corporate commercial relationships and partnership ecosystems within the UK retail and tech sector.
- Communication: Outstanding public speaking, negotiation, and written communication skills with the ability to represent the brand effectively.
- Autonomy: Self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, digital-first environment.
