Role Purpose
We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to own the end-to-end user experience of the Ecofamilies digital platform. In this role, you will champion the user, turning complex platform dynamics—such as multi-vendor checkout loops, interactive parenting forums, and extensive local directories—into beautiful, intuitive, and highly engaging digital experiences. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to build a seamless responsive web and mobile layout that drives growth and brand loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- User Research & Synthesis: Conduct continuous user research, usability testing, and data analysis to uncover insights and translate them into actionable UX improvements.
- Wireframing & Prototyping: Design detailed wireframes, user flows, journey maps, and high-fidelity interactive prototypes using industry-standard design tools.
- Visual & UI Design: Craft modern, clean, and pixel-perfect user interfaces that align with the Ecofamilies green brand guidelines while ensuring responsive excellence across desktop, tablet, and mobile browsers.
- E-commerce & Conversion Optimization: Streamline our multi-vendor marketplace checkout flows, registration pathways, and commercial directories to minimize user friction and boost conversion rates (CRO).
- Design System Ownership: Build, scale, and maintain a robust, component-based digital design system in Figma to ensure visual consistency and smooth asset handoff to development pods.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Marketing Managers, and Backend Developers to ensure technical feasibility, clear specifications, and timely delivery of features.
- Accessibility & Compliance: Ensure all user interface layouts comply thoroughly with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 AA) and adhere securely to UK GDPR privacy-by-design standards.
What You'll Do
Candidate Requirements & Core Competencies
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of professional UI/UX design experience, ideally within a B2C digital platform, e-commerce marketplace, or community network.
- Tooling Portfolio: Mastery of Figma (advanced components, auto-layout, prototyping) and familiarity with secondary tools such as Miro, Adobe Creative Suite, or Hotjar.
- User-Centric Methodology: Proven track record of applying structural user research, heuristic evaluations, and data metrics (GA4, session recordings) to justify design decisions.
- Technical Baseline: Strong conceptual understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive front-end frameworks to facilitate clean handoffs and bridge gaps with engineers.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation skills to vocalize complex design patterns, user flows, and rationale clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Portfolio: A comprehensive design portfolio demonstrating structural case studies, analytical UX flows, wireframe ideation, and polished UI delivery is mandatory.
