Role Purpose
We are looking for a rigorous, detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to take full ownership of product quality across the Ecofamilies ecosystem. In this role, you will implement comprehensive end-to-end automation strategies, perform manual exploratory validation, and construct bulletproof testing frameworks. You will directly safeguard our payment loops, multi-tenant directory lookups, user workflows, and ensure complete data compliance within UK regulatory baselines.
What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities
- Test Automation Engineering: Design, execute, and scale robust automation test suites across web applications and API frameworks using modern tools (Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium).
- Continuous Integration (CI/CD): Embed automated regression, functional, and smoke test layers directly into our Git-driven CI/CD development pipelines to intercept issues prior to deployment.
- API Logic Verification: Perform structural integration testing on core platform microservices, validating complex multi-vendor splits, automated marketplace payouts, and directory endpoints (Postman, SoapUI).
- Defect Governance & Reporting: Track, isolate, document, and manage functional software anomalies within Jira, collaborating directly with backend and frontend developers to secure resolution pathways.
- Manual & Exploratory Testing: Conduct exploratory validation across responsive web formats to evaluate critical end-user touchpoints, subscription activations, and user registration flows.
- Data Privacy & Security Testing: Validate structural session behaviors, cookies, and data deletion vectors to maintain strict alignment with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Performance & Cross-Browser Stability: Oversee cross-browser capability testing and execute core load/stress benchmarks to guarantee application stability during traffic spikes.
Requirements
Candidate Requirements & Experience
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of documented commercial experience working as a QA Engineer, Software Tester, or SDET within a modern digital platform or e-commerce marketplace landscape.
- Automation Frameworks: Deep, practical mastery of automated browser tools (Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium) and programmatic script construction using JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
- API Engineering Validation: Proven expertise checking, mocking, and mapping RESTful or GraphQL API environments with specialized toolsets like Postman.
- Agile Systems Alignment: Strong background working inside structured Agile/Scrum environments, actively steering sprint reviews, bug grooming sessions, and writing comprehensive test matrices.
- UK Legal & Data Literacies: Practical awareness regarding how user data fields are isolated, stored, and managed to comfortably preserve UK GDPR compliance rules.
- Communication Frameworks: Excellent analytical capability combined with professional, objective communication to convey technical failure paths clearly across multi-disciplinary engineering pods.
