Role Purpose
In this role, you will take full ownership of the architecture, engineering, and deployment of machine learning models and artificial intelligence architectures across Ecofamilies. You will translate user behaviors, parenting journeys, and marketplace preferences into tailored, dynamic feed landscapes, semantic search algorithms, and predictive recommendation layers, ensuring ethical execution and deep alignment with UK privacy regulations.
What You'll Do
Core Responsibilities
• AI Architecture & Personalisation Engine: Design, build, and maintain production-ready machine learning engines that drive product, directory, and content personalization arrays for our UK community base.
• Natural Language Processing & Search: Implement large language model (LLM) fine-tuning processes and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) loops to enrich community forum semantic searches, automated content categorizations, and safe-space conversation monitoring assets.
• Recommendation Graph Logic: Develop advanced recommendation graphs linking community profile matrices (e.g., child age groups, geographic locations, green values) with highly relevant sustainable vendor profiles and local circular economies.
• Infrastructure & Data Pipelines: Build and optimize scalable vector database infrastructures (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, or pgvector) and real-time streaming architectures alongside backend tech stacks.
• Technical Leadership & Governance: Pioneer technical guardrails around AI model evaluation, data bias minimization, model quantization, and server-side compute cost governance frameworks.
• UK GDPR & Privacy Ethics: Ensure all model architectures natively conform to privacy-by-design requirements under the UK Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR rules, implementing zero-knowledge or anonymized profile vector logic.
Requirements
Candidate Profile & Requirements
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of professional experience as an ML Engineer, AI Specialist, or Data Scientist within a consumer-facing digital platform, high-scale marketplace, or SaaS environment.
• Modern AI Stack: Proven expertise working with Python, deep learning frameworks (PyTorch or TensorFlow), and advanced language processing orchestration environments (Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs).
• Vector Storage & SQL: Solid competency configuring and query-optimizing vector databases alongside standard relational backends (PostgreSQL, Redis).
• Cloud Production: Confident scaling pipelines inside cloud infrastructures (AWS or GCP) utilizing container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes) and automated CI/CD pathways.
• Compliance Baseline: Clear conceptual understanding of data security, web content standards, and responsible model governance principles.
• Right to Work: Must possess valid, legal authorization to work within the United Kingdom without sponsorship dependencies.
